The Irregular Verbs app
This site tells you that the past tense of go is went. The app is what makes you remember it a month later — all 175 verbs, drilled with spaced repetition, free and offline.
Practise all 175 verbs on your phone
Spaced repetition brings each verb back right before you would forget it. Three difficulty modes, a 60-second Blitz, streaks and a verb collection. Free, works offline, no account.
Why an app and not a list
Reading a table of irregular verbs feels like learning and almost never is. The forms are gone by the next week, because nothing brought them back at the moment they were about to fade. That timing is the whole problem, and it is the one thing software is genuinely good at.
The app tracks every verb separately. Answer one correctly and it comes back in a day, then two, then four, then eight. Get it wrong and it returns tomorrow. You never decide what to revise — you open the app and the verbs that are about to slip are already waiting.
Four ways to practise
- Easy — Pick the past simple and the past participle from four options each. The wrong options are deliberately close — bringed, brang, brung — so guessing does not get you far.
- Normal — Type both forms from memory. This is the mode that decides whether a verb counts as learnt.
- Hard — Complete a real sentence with the right form, which is where the past simple and the past participle finally stop blurring together.
- Blitz — Sixty seconds, as many verbs as you can. Good for a warm-up or a bus stop.
A session is ten questions and takes two or three minutes. Anything you miss comes back before the session ends, so you never finish on a mistake.
The app behind this site
Every page here is generated from the same verb data the app uses, so the forms you read are the forms you practise.

What keeps you coming back
What it does not do
There is no account and no sign-up. Nothing is uploaded, because the app makes no network requests at all — you can check that in Aeroplane Mode. There are no ads, no in-app purchases and no analytics or tracking of any kind. Your progress lives on your device and nowhere else, which is also why deleting the app deletes it. The full detail is in the privacy policy.
